This course is for those seeking a double qualification in law and actuarial studies. The Department of Actuarial Studies at Macquarie University has been recognised by the Institute of Actuaries of Australia as a Centre of Excellence in actuarial education. The Macquarie actuarial program has been running successfully for over 40 years and many Macquarie actuarial graduates hold senior positions in the financial services industry in Australia and overseas.

Students must possess advanced mathematics or equivalent. The required Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) for this course is 94.45. Students should also have a minimum IELTS (Academic English only) score of 6.5 overall, with 6.0 in each section; minimum TOEFL (paper based test) score of 580 overall, with 53 listening, 52 reading, 59 structure/written expression, 5.0 TWE; TOEFL (computer based test) score of 237 overall, with 19 listening, 19 reading, 25 structure/writing and TOEFL (internet based test) score of 92 overall, with 18 listening, 17 reading, 22 writing and 22 speaking.
